Stolen Bike, Stolen Peace – But Not My Dream

A few weeks ago, something unexpected happened at Fele Express. One of our riders reported a company motorcycle as stolen. But his story didn’t quite add up. We followed due process, involved the law, and tried our best to get the truth. In the end, he stayed silent, was released on bail, and the bike, valued at ₦1.4 million, is still missing.
Businessman In A Big Office

A few weeks ago, something unexpected happened at Fele Express. One of our riders reported a company motorcycle as stolen. But his story didn’t add up. We followed due process, involved the law, and even tried to pressure him to speak the truth. In the end, he remained silent, got out on bail, and the bike worth ₦1.4 million is still missing.

It’s a painful loss, not just financially, but operationally. In this business, every bike is an engine of productivity. Every one counts. And when you’re building something from scratch investing your own money, energy, and time it cuts deeper when something like this happens.

This particular investment came from me personally. I didn’t raise funds or get external support. Like many entrepreneurs, I bootstrapped this dream from day one. So losing a bike isn’t just a line item it’s a hit to the very backbone of the operation.

But here’s the thing: we didn’t stop.

We kept going. We kept delivering. Because setbacks don’t define us how we respond to them does.

As the founder and CEO of Fele Express, I started with a clear vision. And while we’ve grown to become a solution for many businesses already, I’ll be honest I’m still not at peace. The full picture of what I envisioned hasn’t yet materialized.

Our mobile apps, which consumed a large part of our startup capital, are still not being fully utilized. Yet, every month, I continue to pay developers for maintenance, cloud hosting, Google services, and other running costs. The weight is real but so is the dream.

Sometimes, it feels like climbing a hill barefoot. But I know the view at the top will be worth it.

And so, we keep building. We keep serving. We keep believing.

To every young entrepreneur out there navigating storms like this know that you’re not alone. These are the days that will make the story worth telling.

One day, we’ll look back and say: We were tested, but we never gave up.”
